The Manchester United footballer’s father passed away, following a long-term illness.
His family reportedly confirmed the news to French newspaper, Le Parisien, on May 12, but no other details have been announced.
“@paulpogba sorry for your loss PP! Thoughts are with you and your family. #StayStrong #PogStrong #MUFC,” one wrote.
Another commented: “Stay strong @paulpogba,we all absolutely love you no matter what.”
While a fourth added: “Stay strong @paulpogba Papa will always be watching, continue to make him proud, God got you.”
Fassou recently celebrated his 79th birthday, with Paul sharing a sweet picture on Instagram showing him presenting his dad with a cake, while in hospital.
Alongside the sweet snap, shared with his 14.9million followers, Wayne Rooney’s team mate admitted he felt “blessed” to be his son.
He always shared a close bond with his three sons, including the 24 year old, as well as Florentin and Mathias, who are also footballers.
Last year, he was spotted enjoying a family day out in the stands watching Paul take part in France’s Euro 2016 draw against Switzerland – with all three brothers wearing “Happy Father’s Day” t-shirts.
